The Stick Company recently created big things for one of the most highly visible organizations in the region – the Morgantown Area Economic Partnership.
MAP President + CEO Holly Childs approached The Stick Company in 2015 to create and design a complete branding package for the organization. The goal and challenge was to make an impact with site selectors across the country for whose attention every community vies. The first steps in the process were the creation of a versatile logo and one-of-a-kind website specifically focusing on all that the Morgantown MSA had to offer both existing and potential new businesses in the area.
The new website was the first piece of a larger rebranding focused on the tagline “It’s Morgantown.” The tagline is featured in the URL, throughout the website and on print items and trade show displays designed for the new look and feel of MAP. New logos, high quality business cards, printed displays, booklets and more, all work together to create the new MAP brand..
The challenge with the MAPS project was to make people who had never been to the area, feel like it was a familiar place and somewhere they wanted to be. The Stick team achieved this visual suggestion by incorporating bold photography of real people doing real work on real job sites throughout the region.
Stick worked closely with the MAPS staff to identify companies in the area that would represent success stories of the region. We hoped prospective businesses might see optimism and opportunity through these examples. On location photo shoots and detailed descriptions were critical components to conveying that success grows here and that their next location should be Morgantown.
