2019 WVU Medicine Children’s Community Service Award Recipient

On Saturday, February 9, 2019 WVU Medicine Children’s hosted their annual fundraising gala, and while The Stick Company has been a supporter of this event for over 11 years, but this year, we were especially honored as our own Owner and President, Damian Ferek was recognized and awarded the 2019 Community Service Award. The hospital’s recognition video was played for the evening’s event attendees and featured a short overview of our team’s contributions to WVU Medicine Children’s.

The Stick Company was honored to have long-time friend and supporter, Cheryl Jones, Chief Nursing Officer of WVU Medicine Children’s, say a few words on our team’s behalf, as part of the award presentation.

Following the video, Damian was present to take the podium so that he could deliver some words of appreciation, as well.

“Growing up in a small town like Carmichaels, PA, you are taught two things. 1) Work hard – each and every day, and 2) Get involved in anything and everything. When we opened our company in 2007 in Morgantown, we strived to do exactly that. Fast forward 12 years later, and while we are honored to receive this recognition, we feel we are just getting started. We would certainly like to thank all of our team, our partners, the WVU Medicine Children’s Development office and all of the Morgantown community for your support throughout the years.”

For those that might not be aware, The Stick Company has partnered with WVU Medicine Children’s from our inaugural year when we quickly became involved with the annual Gala. From there, our team has helped support a number of campaigns and initiatives over the years, as well as helped launch a few of our own alongside our sister company, Stick Tattoo. Campaigns include Tats For Tots, Rockin’ Toy Drive, and the recent Ride For Kids WV. In 2015, Damian, along with VP Kim Johnson, volunteered to co-chair the Annual Gala, as well.

We at The Stick Company were honored and humbled to have received this recognition, and appreciate the continued support of all of our friends and family and the Morgantown community. A special thanks to all of the team at WVU Medicine Children’s for, not only the recognition, but for the continued dedication, services and care you continue to provide the region.

From ‘The Land of Oz’ Children’s Gala

The Stick Company is proud to showcase one of our recent projects for WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital with the branding campaign for their annual fundraising gala. Each year, the gala presents a new theme for the invitations an decor, of which this year is The Land of Oz.

The Stick Company’s Senior Designer, Maria Ashenfelder, spearheaded the project creating the event’s overall look and appearance and then carried the design throughout the entire campaign. The project included a number of print elements including save the date cards, custom invitations, event program and signage. There was even yellow brick road, over 400 feet long, that served as the entrance to the gala.

In addition to the print items, The Stick Company created the custom website for the event featuring various information and details, as well as sponsorship opportunities and online ticket sales. To view the website be sure to visit www.WVUCHGala.com.

About the Gala:

A black-tie event, the annual WVU Medicine Children’s Gala took place on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019. During this time, guests had the opportunity to bid on many wonderful auction items. The WVU Medicine Children’s program was followed by dinner and a live auction. The evening was topped off by spectacular live entertainment.

If you have not been to one of the WVU Medicine Children’s Galas, we strongly encourage you to consider this event in the future.

Award Videos for 2019 Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce

For the second year in a row, The Stick Company was honored to work with the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce to produce this year’s Business Award Videos. This year, eight separate award videos were created to feature the various recognition awarded to its members. Our team worked closely with both the team at the Chamber, and the award winners, to ensure we were able to present an award video that captured the essence of the company, while remaining budget friendly to the chamber. Each video was approximately 5 minutes in length and featured a number of testimonials and interviews by local community leaders.

The videos were then presented at the annual Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce banquet held at the Morgantown Event Center at Waterfront Place. In addition to the award videos, The Stick Company also helped produce the video award sponsorship videos, as well as the year in review slideshow.

We have included a sample of the award videos below, and you can see all of them at the Morgantown Chamber’s website. From all of us at The Stick Company, we would like to wish a huge congratulations to all of the 2019 Award Winners, and thank you for your help in creating your award videos.

Feeling the ‘Need for Speed’ with Top Gun Sealcoating

Top Gun Sealcoating recently partnered with The Stick Company to create a brand identity package for their startup company. Located in Martinsburg, West Virginia, The Stick Company had worked with members of Top Gun previously and were excited at the opportunity to help kickstart their marketing efforts. Based on their previous experience in the United States Military as pilots, the team had fun naming their company Top Gun Sealcoating, and wanted an identity that reflected their Veteran-Owned company, but also created their own distinct logo and branding moving forward.

Once the logo was created, The Stick Company worked to create a set of business cards, construction site signage and branded company merchandise to help feature the new brand identity. A custom website was also created to showcase the various services of the company, along with photos and case studies. The images were also used to help kick-start the 2019 social media push the company is planning during the winter months.

Our experience with STICK has been excellent. We have used several of their services and each and everyone was managed efficiently and professionally, exceeding our expectations. The STICK team evaluated our budget from a start-up to an entry level business and created the exact imagery we had dreamed of! If you are a results driven organization, STICK is the real deal.

– Jake Jenkins, Co-Owner
