The Importance of Employer Branding

When most companies think about branding, they think about attracting customers. But your brand also plays a major role in attracting employees.

What Does Your Brand Say to Potential Employees?

Ask yourself:

  • What does your current website say about your company and its culture?
  • Do your photos and videos reflect the quality of your work, the capabilities of your team, and the opportunities within your business?
  • When someone visits your website or social media, do they see a company that feels active, professional, stable, and moving forward?

For someone considering a new job—especially someone leaving a steady position—the decision goes far beyond hourly pay or a list of responsibilities. They want to understand the company, the people behind it, the work being performed, and whether the opportunity feels stable enough to support them and their family.

They are going to research your business.

They will visit your website, review your social media, look through your photos and videos, and often share that information with a spouse, family member, or trusted friend.

What they find shapes their opinion of your company before they ever submit an application.

What Is Employer Branding?

Your website, photography, video, and social media all work together to show potential employees who you are. They introduce the people behind the company, highlight the work being performed, demonstrate growth and stability, and provide a clearer picture of what it may be like to join your team.

The way your company presents itself can communicate trust, professionalism, reliability, pride, and forward momentum. It can also help the right candidates recognize that your company may be the right place for them.

The more questions your brand can answer—and the more clearly it shows who you are—the more confident someone can feel about taking the next step.

Why Employer Branding Matters

Your website or social media presence will not make someone accept a job on its own. But it can give them the confidence to apply, return a phone call, attend an interview, and seriously consider making a change.

That is the value of a strong employer brand.

It helps the right people understand who you are, what you stand for, and why joining your company may be the right next step for them and their family.

How Industrial Video Production Brings Complex Projects to Life

Some projects are too impressive to be explained with a few photos and a paragraph of text.

When GMS Mine Repair & Maintenance completed a massive underground bunker project for Warrior Met Coal in central Alabama, the scale, complexity, and craftsmanship deserved more than a traditional project summary. It needed to be experienced.

That is why we partnered with GMS to produce a professional project video that tells the story through the people who helped bring it to life.

Showing the Story Behind the Project

Working nearly 1,800 feet underground, the GMS team constructed a large-scale raw coal bunker capable of storing more than 9,000 tons of material. Standing more than 100 feet tall and stretching nearly the length of a football field, the project required precise planning, specialized equipment, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

Instead of simply listing specifications, the video helps viewers understand what those numbers really mean. Through interviews, project footage, and carefully crafted storytelling, the audience sees not only what was built, but how it was built and why it matters.

Turning Technical Information into an Engaging Story

Industrial projects often involve highly technical processes that can be difficult to communicate to customers, partners, and future employees.

In this project, the GMS team explains challenges such as transporting massive hopper components underground through tight access points, assembling them in place with overhead cranes and rigging systems, and constructing a purpose-built tripper drive to distribute material throughout the bunker.

These are more than engineering details. They are examples of expertise, problem-solving, planning, and execution. Professional video production turns those accomplishments into a story that viewers can understand and appreciate.

Building Trust Through Authentic Interviews

One of the most effective parts of this video is hearing directly from the people who completed the work.

Authentic interviews allow industry experts to explain projects in their own words while building credibility and trust. Combined with on-site footage, these conversations create content that feels genuine, informative, and grounded in real experience.

For companies operating in mining, construction, manufacturing, energy, and heavy industry, that authenticity can be one of the most valuable marketing tools available.

More Than a Project Video

A professionally produced industrial video becomes a long-term marketing asset.

It can be featured on a company website, shared across social media, included in presentations, shown at trade shows, used in recruiting efforts, and incorporated into proposals and customer meetings. Instead of serving only one purpose, a strong video can continue working for a business long after the project is complete.

For a company like GMS, the finished video also serves as a permanent record of the expertise, planning, craftsmanship, and safety standards behind the work.

Tell the Story Behind Your Next Project

Every major industrial project has a story worth telling.

Whether your company is building underground infrastructure, completing large-scale construction, manufacturing specialized equipment, or delivering complex engineering solutions, professional video helps your audience understand not just what you do, but why your company is qualified to do it.

At The Stick Company, we produce professional industrial videos that combine interviews, on-site cinematography, drone footage, and clear storytelling to showcase your people, your projects, and your expertise.

How a Custom History Wall Wrap Is Inspiring Students at Frazier High School

When The Stick Company launched the Wrap My Classroom Contest, the goal was simple: recognize an outstanding teacher while showing how custom classroom wall wraps can transform a learning environment.

The community was invited to nominate deserving educators for the opportunity to receive a custom classroom makeover designed, printed, and installed by The Stick Company. The winning classroom belonged to Mr. Ostrowski—better known to his students as “Mr. O”—at Frazier High School.

Mr. Ostrowski has taught U.S. History, AP U.S. History, and Geography at Frazier for the past 11 years. When students first told him they had submitted his name for the contest, he did not expect anything to come of it.

“A couple students passed me in the hallway and said that they’d put my name in, and I just thought and just laughed it off.”

About a month later, he learned that his classroom had been selected.

“It was a shock and surprise, but I guess an honor in a way, too, that students thought I deserved or was worthy of getting a wall wrap.”

Bringing History to Life with a Classroom Wall Wrap

The goal of the project was not simply to decorate the classroom. The Stick Company worked with Mr. Ostrowski to create a custom educational wall wrap based on the subjects and historical events he discusses with his students throughout the school year.

Mr. Ostrowski provided the basic concept and educational content, and The Stick Company’s team turned that idea into a large-scale classroom graphic.

“Working with The Stick Company was awesome. I just gave a basic idea or premise, and then you guys took that idea and literally made it come to life as a wall wrap.”

The completed wall wrap transformed an ordinary classroom wall into an engaging visual teaching tool that students can reference during daily lessons.

More Than Classroom Décor

Custom classroom wall wraps can do much more than improve the appearance of a school. They can reinforce important information, encourage student engagement, and create a more immersive learning environment.

Mr. Ostrowski has already seen his students use the history wall wrap as a resource during class discussions.

“I have students who look at it while we’re talking about certain presidents or certain events. They look back to almost double-check.”

Instead of relying only on textbooks, presentations, or handouts, students now have a permanent visual reference displayed directly in their classroom.

Custom Wall Wraps for Any School Subject

Although this classroom wall wrap focuses on American history, the same concept can be used throughout a school. Educational wall wraps can support lessons in science, mathematics, literature, geography, art, career and technical education, and many other subjects.

School wall wraps can also be used in hallways, libraries, cafeterias, gymnasiums, athletic facilities, entrances, and other shared spaces to showcase school pride, history, values, achievements, and educational content.

“I’d definitely recommend Stick Company and a wall wrap to any school in any subject area, not just history. It definitely enhances a lesson.”

Transform Your School with Custom Wall Graphics

Congratulations to Mr. Ostrowski and the students at Frazier High School, and thank you to everyone who participated in the Wrap My Classroom Contest.

Whether you are looking for classroom wall wraps, school wall graphics, educational wall murals, or custom graphics that showcase school spirit, The Stick Company can help bring your ideas to life.

From design and printing to professional installation, our team creates custom school wall wraps that make classrooms and educational spaces more engaging, memorable, and inspiring.
